Industrial machining in Tijuana, held to the tolerance your print demands

The tightest tolerance in the city, held run after run. Lathes and machining centers on two shifts for monthly, quarterly and annual contracts, with repeatable parts down to 0.00007 in where the geometry allows it.

What we do

Ten services that start at your print and end at your dock

We are not a shop that does a little of everything. Each of these ten services has its own machines, its own procedure and the people who own it. However you search for it — a CNC parts manufacturer, a nearshore machining supplier, or an offshore alternative that happens to be twenty minutes from San Diego — it is all under one roof here. Pick the one that looks like your problem.

Why RD

Six reasons a buyer stays

Not brochure promises: these are the six things our customers name when we ask why they keep sending us prints.

0.002 mm tolerance

Grinding and fine machining for gauges, core pins, punches and die plates where 0.01 mm is already too much.

Quote in 24 hours

An engineer reviews the print, not a salesperson. You get the machining route, the proposed material and a real delivery date.

Quality before shipping

Every lot goes through dimensional inspection with calibrated instruments. Certificate of conformance available on request.

Shipping to Mexico and the USA

Twenty minutes from the Otay Mesa crossing. We ship to your plant or to your warehouse north of the border.

Everything under one roof

Turning, milling, wire EDM, grinding, welding, heat treatment and laser marking. Your part does not tour three suppliers.

First sample at no charge

On production projects we machine the sample part before you release the order. If it does not meet print, you pay nothing.

A machine shop in Tijuana, twenty-four years in

RD Maquinados began operating in early 2002. We are twenty-five people in a shop in Colinas de la Mesa, Tijuana, and we have spent more than two decades doing the same thing: machining parts that have to come out exact.

What changed over twenty-four years was the scale, not the standard. Today we are twenty-five people with CNC centers, wire EDM, precision grinding and a quality department with calibrated instruments — but the rule is the same one: if the part is not to print, it does not leave the shop.

The path

From your file to your dock, in six steps

This is the full route of a project. We publish it because most machining problems originate in the first two steps, and that is exactly where we spend the most care.

01

We receive your print

The drawing arrives as PDF, STEP, IGES, DXF or DWG. If all you have is the physical part, we scan it and draft the print ourselves.

02

Manufacturability review

Engineering reviews tolerances, material and workholding. If a dimension makes the part expensive for no reason, we tell you before quoting.

03

Quote in 24 hours

You get unit price, volume pricing, the proposed material and a committed delivery date. No fine print.

04

Sample and approval

For production we machine the first article, measure it and send it over with its dimensional report for your approval.

05

Machining and finishing

We run the lot. If the part needs heat treatment, anodizing or laser marking, it happens here without leaving the shop.

06

Inspection and shipping

Quality measures against the print, releases the lot and it ships to your plant in Mexico or your warehouse in the United States.

What they say

Four voices from the plant floor

We sent the print on a Tuesday afternoon and by Wednesday morning we had price and date. The fixture arrived exactly as drawn and needed no rework on the floor.

Ingeniería de manufacturaPlanta automotriz, Tijuana

They solved a run of core pins another supplier could not hold in tolerance. Three years buying from them and we have not had a single rejection.

ComprasDispositivo médico, Otay

A shaft broke on a Friday with the line running. They machined it on Saturday and we were producing again by Monday. Not everyone does that.

MantenimientoPlanta de alimentos, La Mesa

Working with them removed the border from our problem list. They invoice, they ship, and the part shows up in our warehouse on this side without us touching it.

FAQ

Under 24 business hours from the moment the print arrives. If the project has several parts or needs specialty material sourcing, we tell you the same day and give you a firm date for the complete proposal.

Down to 0.00007 in (0.002 mm), depending on part geometry and material. We reach that with grinding rather than milling, and we reserve it for gauges, core pins, punches and die plates. Most production parts run between 0.0005 and 0.001 in, which is where cost and function balance out.

Both. We keep manual machines precisely for the one-off part and the urgent spare, and CNC centers with bar feed for runs of hundreds or thousands. There is no minimum order.

PDF, STEP, IGES, DXF or DWG. STEP leaves the least room for error because it carries the full 3D geometry. If all you have is the physical part and no drawing, we measure it here and draft it ourselves.

Yes, on request. Every part goes through dimensional inspection before shipping; the certificate of conformance and the dimensional report are issued whenever your system requires them, at no extra cost.

Yes. We deliver throughout Mexico and ship into the United States. We are twenty minutes from the Otay Mesa crossing and already serve customers with warehouses in San Diego, Arizona and Texas.
