Welding and metal structures in Tijuana

Welding is the easy part. Getting the structure square, the work surface level and the mounting holes aligned with the machine — that takes a machine shop in the same building.

Welding with machining ten meters away

Most weld shops deliver the structure and their job ends there; someone else then has to machine the seating faces, drill the mounting pattern and true up whatever the heat moved. Here that second step happens on the same shift.

We weld, allow the stresses to relieve and take the structure to the mill to machine the critical surfaces. It is the difference between a table that looks right and a table where the machine sitting on it actually seats.

Materials and processes

We run stick, TIG and MIG on aluminum, stainless, carbon steel, carbide and copper. TIG is what we use on sanitary stainless and thin aluminum, where the bead has to be clean and spatter-free because the part stays visible or touches product.

For heavy structure we use MIG for deposition rate and penetration. For tooling repair and hardfacing of worn areas we go to stick with the electrode matched to the base steel.

What we build most often

Work tables with ESD or steel tops, safety guarding with polycarbonate, machine bases and skids, electrical cabinets, transport carts, racks, hoppers and extruded aluminum frames for workstations.

Everything ships degreased, with the finish the application requires — industrial paint, black oxide, anodizing or polished stainless — and, where needed, installed at your plant by our own people.

What actually drives the cost of a structure

Three things move the price of a welded structure, and none of them is the welding: material thickness, the number of different cuts, and the finish. A flat-bar frame with six identical cuts costs a fraction of the same frame with eighteen cuts at different angles.

When we review your drawing we point that out. Unifying thicknesses, repeating angles and accepting a commercial corner radius usually takes fifteen to thirty percent off the cost without touching function. The one place not to economize is the finish: if the structure lives outdoors or gets chemical washdown, that saving comes back as corrosion.

Frequently asked questions about welding and structures in Tijuana

Both. If you have the print, we build it; if all you have is the need — 'I need a table here that holds this machine' — we design it, send you the model and build what you approve.

Yes, with TIG and sanitary finishing: clean bead, no porosity, polished and passivated where the process requires it. It is one of the jobs packaging lines ask us for most.

Yes. Hardfacing of worn areas, crack repair and surface rebuilding with follow-up machining to restore the original geometry.
