Machining FAQ: what buyers ask us before the first print

What buyers and manufacturing engineers ask us most before they send the first print.

Machining FAQ, answered by the shop

Under 24 business hours from the moment the print arrives. If the project has several parts or needs specialty material sourcing, we tell you the same day and give you a firm date for the complete proposal.

Down to 0.00007 in (0.002 mm), depending on part geometry and material. We reach that with grinding rather than milling, and we reserve it for gauges, core pins, punches and die plates. Most production parts run between 0.0005 and 0.001 in, which is where cost and function balance out.

Both. We keep manual machines precisely for the one-off part and the urgent spare, and CNC centers with bar feed for runs of hundreds or thousands. There is no minimum order.

PDF, STEP, IGES, DXF or DWG. STEP leaves the least room for error because it carries the full 3D geometry. If all you have is the physical part and no drawing, we measure it here and draft it ourselves.

Yes, on request. Every part goes through dimensional inspection before shipping; the certificate of conformance and the dimensional report are issued whenever your system requires them, at no extra cost.

Yes. We deliver throughout Mexico and ship into the United States. We are twenty minutes from the Otay Mesa crossing and already serve customers with warehouses in San Diego, Arizona and Texas.

On production projects, yes. We review the print, machine the first part and send it over with its measurements so you can approve it before releasing the order. It does not apply to one-off parts or complete tooling, for obvious cost reasons.

A2, D2, S7, P20, 4140, 4140 PHT and 1018 steels; 6061 and 7075 aluminum; bronze, copper and brass; plastics such as Delrin, nylon, polycarbonate, phenolic and G10. Specialty materials (PEEK, titanium, Inconel, M-series) are sourced with material certification.

Complete. We design the die, wire-EDM the die plates, grind them, make the punches and deliver the tooling assembled and tried out. We also maintain and sharpen dies you already have in production.

We hold manual lathe and mill capacity for exactly that. Call the direct line rather than emailing: if the part is machinable with what is on the floor, we start the same day. We have delivered spares on a Saturday.

Yes, and it is routine on the medical device and defense projects we handle. Send us your form and we will review it; if you do not have one, we provide ours.

At Loma Gris 9824, Col. Colinas de la Mesa, Tijuana. Visits are welcome and we actually recommend one before placing a large project: seeing the machines and the team says more than any presentation. Schedule it by phone or WhatsApp.
