A machine shop in Tijuana, twenty-four years in
RD Maquinados began operating in early 2002. We are twenty-five people in a shop in Colinas de la Mesa, Tijuana, and we have spent more than two decades doing the same thing: machining parts that have to come out exact.
Who we are
How it started
RD Maquinados began operating in early 2002. It started the way nearly every machine shop in Tijuana starts: with manual machines, two partners who knew how to machine, and customers who arrived on another customer's recommendation.
What changed over twenty-four years was the scale, not the standard. Today we are twenty-five people with CNC centers, wire EDM, precision grinding and a quality department with calibrated instruments — but the rule is the same one: if the part is not to print, it does not leave the shop.
In that time we went from loose spare parts to sustaining monthly production contracts, from serving only Tijuana plants to shipping into the United States, and from one industry to seven. The shop grew with its customers.

The team
Who does the work
Twenty-five people across programming, CNC machining, manual machining, welding, quality and administration. Most have been here for years, and it shows more than you would expect: a seasoned operator hears a tool starting to wear before the part goes out of size.
Engineering works in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and reviews every print that comes in before a quote goes out. Quality is an independent department with the authority to stop a shipment — and it uses it.
The quality commitment
Every part is inspected by the quality department before shipping, so nonconforming product does not reach your plant. The certificate of conformance is available on request at no additional cost.
